A Denver man faces multiple charges after causing a multi-car crash which police believe involved alcohol and drugs.
According to witnesses, 40-year-old Brian Lawrence Kahn was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Hwy 85 at a high rate of speed when he encountered vehicles stopped at the intersection with Bromley Lane. Kahn apparently swerved into the far left turn lane to go around the stopped cars, entering the intersection against a red light and crashing into a silver Nissan sedan and a white Ford pickup which were making left turns from Bromley Lane onto Hwy 85. When officers arrived on-scene, Kahn was found unconscious, and transported to a local hospital for evaluation of possible injuries. The driver of the Ford truck was also taken to an area hospital for evaluation following the crash.
Police are investigating information which indicates Kahn may have been involved in several additional crashes in Weld County earlier in the day; he currently faces several charges, including DUI, Driving Under Revocation, and Reckless Driving.
The charges against Brian Kahn are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
