May is Historic Preservation Month

Each year the Brighton Historic Preservation Commission and their office celebrates historic preservation month. In 2017, the National Trust for Historic Preservation is commemorating 50 years of preservation. In honor of that benchmark, the Commission will be hosting an online scavenger hunt of historic places in Brighton for the entire month of May.

Each Monday in May, clues will be posted on the City of Brighton Facebook page to guide you to a historic building located in the Brighton city limits. Once you have discovered the building, you will find a brightly colored flyer with tickets on it, take a ticket as proof of your clever sleuthing skills, then wait for the next clue!

Once you have gathered all your tickets (five total) bring them to the Historic Preservation Office located inside Historic City Hall the first week of June. Not only will you get to meet our staff, you will see the new museum we have been working on, and receive a prize for all your hard work!

Good luck! We cannot wait to meet you!
