Arrest made in Brighton robberies

An arrest has been made in the recent string of convenience store burglaries in Brighton.  Brighton resident, Benjamin Jose Martinez, 33, was arrested on Saturday, March 4th after allegedly robbing a convenience store in Longmont. Martinez fled from the scene and was located shortly after the robbery by Broomfield Police.  

In an interview with Broomfield Police, Martinez admitted to robbing numerous convenience stores in Brighton, Thornton, Broomfield, Dacono, and Longmont.  The Brighton Police Department is continuing its investigation into the robberies and are waiting to interview Martinez.    

Martinez was booked into the Boulder County Detention Facility on charges of Aggravated robbery, felony menacing, and theft. These charges are felonies. The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
