Best-selling author EJ Carrion, author of Accelerate Your Success, will provide a special presentation March 2 to parents, educators and youth specialists on how to help make your child shine and be recognized among peers as they transition to college and later on to a career. This free event, hosted by the City of Brighton Office of Youth Services, will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the Armory Performing Arts Center, 300 Strong Street. Carrion, will be a keynote speaker earlier in the day at the City of Brighton Image Youth Summit.
The average student will spend around $150,000 on their transition from childhood to adult and spend the rest of their life trying to pay it back. In this session, Carrion will teach attendees how to save money and prevent youth from digging themselves into a hole of debt. College looks exponentially different for students in this day in age and the process to get accepted is more complex. This event will pull back the curtain and share the secret as well as simple tips to get youth in the right college at the right price. This presentation is not just about getting youth into college, this event is about transforming youth from a clueless unmotivated teenager to a passionate high-performing adult. Carrion will cover why the college process starts as early as eighth grade and how parents can leverage their child's academic experience to earn scholarships, get into top schools, and succeed after high school for pennies on the dollar.
Carrion has spoken to more than tens of thousands of students in over 20 states, all before he turned 23. His main entrepreneurial venture is the Student Success Academy, a modern coaching solution that helps high school students leverage their education and build a personalized plan to defeat current issues in the economy and in their own life.
Featured on ABC, NBC and Fox news affiliates, Carrion is the number one Amazon Best-Selling author of Accelerate Your Success: How to Create A Future and Stand Out When College is Not Enough, which teaches students how to market and brand themselves when everyone is going to college and no one is hiring.
