Today, the City of Brighton opened its third annual Big Little Idea contest to Brighton community members.
The Big Little Idea contest is a city-sponsored contest that will award $500 each to six citizens, nonprofits or teams, to create and implement ideas to make Brighton a better place to live, work, play and learn. Brighton residents are encouraged to show their love for Brighton through their ideas. In past years, the contest generated a variety of impressive ideas and action from the community.
Big Little Idea contest timeline
- Jan. 9 – Contest opens to the public
- April 1 – Submission form deadline
- April 10 – Judging week
- April 14 – Winners announced
- May 2 – Winners will be recognized at City Council meeting
- Dec. 16 – Completion of project due
The six winners will be chosen by a judging panel consisting of city council members and appointed city staff. Winners will be selected based on the criteria for originality, connection to the community, and creativity.
