Fourth of July Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Fourth of July event and fireworks show. We apologize we were unable to meet the community’s expectations.

Unfortunately we were unable to shoot the fireworks from the east side of Vikan Middle School due to construction and safety concerns, as we’ve done in the past. In order to avoid cancelling the fireworks altogether, we were required to find a new location that would accommodate the logistics (Fall-out zone, insurance requirements, public safety, etc.) of the fireworks show. We looked at several sites around the area and found that the location just west of the Bromley Koizuma-Hishinuma Farm was the best and safest option. We are very sorry for not being more diligent when communicating the change of shooting location.

We really appreciate the time and effort put forth by our residents and visitors to get to our official viewing location at Carmichael Park. Staff will be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss potential options for the future. We value all of the feedback we’ve received from those in attendance and will take that into consideration as we plan for future events.

We also appreciate the hard work and long hours put in by staff, volunteers and first responders to make this event and every event in Brighton possible. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact the city’s events manager at 303-655-2217 or gmontoya@brightonco.gov.
